Tuesday - Isaiah 18 - Africa in Prophecy

G
OD has a plan concerning the inhabitants of Africa. It is absurd that the statement even needs to be made, but sadly there is still a ridiculous amount of very strong prejudice against people of African descent. Every human being has 2 common male ancestors, both Adam and Noah. In other words, there is only one race, and that is the human race. No reminder is more potent than that found in 1st John 2:2 and John 3:16. Christ died for the sins of all men, red and yellow, black and white, because God loved the whole race.  God didn't plan redemption to the exclusion of any ethnic group (Revelations 5:9 & Acts 8:26-39). We know that this is true, but do we live in the full light of the ramifications of this truth?

During the days of Isaiah, the people "beyond the rivers of Ethiopia" had a distinct reputation. They were both a people to be feared and yet they were also trodden down. It seems that they exhibited a certain superiority and yet were also oppressed. Despite (or maybe because of) their advantages, there are far too many examples of them being suppressed & oppressed. In recent centuries, the bane & blight of the slave trade did much to humiliate & antagonize them & to drive almost irreparable wedges between them & many others. But indeed, God's program includes all the inhabitants of the world; everyone who dwells on the earth (Isaiah 18:3).  That certainly includes the people of Africa. The day will come when they will be connected with a significant ensign & present (vs. 3 & 7) which will bring significant glory to God (Psalm 87:3-6).  God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34-35), so we had best make sure that we aren't prejudiced against particular ethnicities either (James 2:4).
